Scorer: Alice Fitt.
Match Report. Celtic took on Peterborough in the league, and with just some pride to play for, the girls were not up to the task today, Peterborough put six well worked and frankly very easy goals past the girls, in a game where we were second to every ball, not willing to fight for the ball, and a game for us to forget, with the only plus being a nice goal to Alice fit, with just one game left of the season, let see if we can finish on a bit of a high, a very under par performance, and a game where your manager deserves better, Hannah Clancy and abbie Mackenzie, were fantastic today fought for every ball. Mom: Abbie Mackenzie, Hannah Clancy.
Fixture: Moulton Magpies v Gregory Celtic Age Group: Under 14 Team Name: Moulton Magpies Girls Result: Lost 5-2 Scorers: Bali Chahal, Kirsty Gardner MOM: Lizzie Shannon Team: Chelsea Bryant, Amy Dickens, Hannah Simons, Cleo Panayis Elizabeth Shannon, Katie Sturgess, Evie Malpas, Bali Chahal, Alice Williams, Subs: Report: Games against Celtic are normally entertaining and played with a good spirit and this was no exception. Celtic were a little lucky with the first goal but needed no luck with the next two to go in 3-0 up at half time. Celtic added a fourth shortly in to the second half but Moulton didn’t let their heads drop and a few minutes later Bali scored a great goal following a good corner from Kirsty. This lifted Magpies who were now competing well in every position on the pitch. Chelsea made a great stop to deny Celtic and when Kirsty added the second goal Moulton were back in the game. Celtic scored the fifth with virtually the last kick of the game and the score line was a bit unkind on Magpies. Man of the match went to Lizzie for a great game in defence against a strong opponent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 06/02/10 Scorers: Danielle Ashworth (3), Dannielle Ives Team: Amy Hope, Stephanie Butts, Laura Cox, Shannon Coles, Bethan Mercer, Rosin Lawrence, Yasmin Marlow, Dannielle Ives, Danielle Ashworth, Sophie Bendon Report: Rothwell only had 10 players but still managed to stand up to a Blisworth side that were finishing well. Rosin Lawrence created several chances for Daniella Ashworth and Rothwell were unlucky not to score before half time. Yasmin Marlow ands Sophie Bendon put in tireless performances in the centre of the park for Rothwell.

Rothwell started very brightly passing the ball around and after 12 minutes had deservedly taken a two goal lead. Annie scored a great goal for Moulton after 20 minutes with a neat finish after a strong run. Moulton’s confidence lifted and they started to play some good football up to half time. In the second half Magpies continued this form and Annie brought them level 15 minutes in. Shortly after this Annie very nearly had her hat trick but saw her shot go just the wrong side of the post. Rothwell’s keeper made a great save pushing the ball over for a corner when Evie’s shot looked bound for the top corner. Rothwell picked their game up again and an exciting last ten minutes saw both sides trying to get the win. The defences played well with Chelsea making some brave stops for Moulton and in the end a draw was a fair result. Under 14’s league Blisworth Vixens Won 3-2-against Gregory Celtic Scorers, Jess Peaks 2, Georgina Henry 1 Team: Sian Holmes, Gabriella Dyer, Olivia Partridge, Poppy Bignell, Hannah Whelan, Elora Dartnell, Paige Henry, Grace Adeyinka, Georgina Henry, Imogen Elvie. Jess Peaks Subs MOM: Elora Dartnell Report: Blisworth and Celtic locked horns and a very entertaining match ensued Blisworth seemed to take control in the first 15 minutes and then conceded a goal on the counter attack and then had to scrap all the way for a equaliser and were rewarded just before halftime from a controlled effort from Georgina Henry, Vixens then came out in a more determined mood and broke the deadlock with a superb effort from Jess peaks who, slipped her marker and rifled the ball into the top right corner from the edge of the box. Celtic then pressed for a goal and looked like it was coming but for a superb save from the vixens keeper Sian Holmes, Gregory then took advantage from a lapse of concentration from the vixens to make it all square with 10 minutes to go, then the home team turned it on and missed several chances to bury the game before, (old reliable) Jess peaks won the match with a lovely goal to give the vixens the points, and the double over Gregory this season.. Well done girls you did your manager and your parents proud. C’mon you Vixens. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Match Date: 6.12.09

Report: Magpies started well this week and deservedly took the lead after 10 minutes through Annie. A couple of lovely passes from Abi and Bali unlocked the Tigers’ defence and Annie took the ball in her stride and finished coolly in the bottom corner. Magpies had more chances and Evie saw her cross hit the top of the cross bar after 25 minutes. Parklands got the equaliser before half time to set up an exciting second half. Magpies had a great chance to take the lead with ten minutes to go when they were awarded a penalty but the Parklands keeper pulled off a good save from Kirsty’s well taken spot kick. Parklands scored what proved to be the winner a couple of minutes later following a quick break. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 29/11/2009

Report: Vixens faced Drayton for the third time this season in the league cup, and maintained their 100% record. There was little between the 2 sides for the first 10 minutes with Drayton having the better chances, but failing to convert. It was Blisworth who took first blood with a excellent solo effort from Georgina Henry. Then 5 mins later Shannon Rowlands added another, before Georgina got her second. Blisworth were then caught napping and Drayton pulled one back, with a good finish. Vixens then retaliated with a quick double courtesy of Jess Peaks and Imogen Elvie, making it 5-1 at the break. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Match Date: 8.11.09

Match report The Celtic girls travelled to Kettering for this Saturday morning fixture, and it was equal possession for the first fifteen minitues before Abbie Mac slotted home the first, but Kettering were in determined mood with them then scoring to take things equal, with a very good worked goal, the Celtic girls then found there passing game, with Abbie Mackenzie then scoring two more goals to send the girls in at 3-1 at half time.
In the second half there was again some nice football played by Celtic, and Abbie Mackenzie then obliged scoring two more goals to take her to five goals, with Hannah then finishing off the scoring to take the score to 6-1, Kettering did battle to the end, and did play some nice football, Well done girls. Abbie Mackenzie took man of the match for some super finishing.

Report: Blisworth did not cry wolf, unlike some teams, having only 9 players, they took on Parklands and it was Vixens who took the game to the opposition scoring within 10 seconds from the start from a Jess Peaks lob. Blisworth with their noses in front went to consolidate the lead and were justly rewarded with another from Peaks. Vixens penned in Tigers until late on Blisworth went down to 8 players and parklands Took advantage and pulled one back with a well worked goal making it 2-1 at half time. After the interval again Vixens went on the attack and tired legs were taking their toll and parklands pushed up hard but Blisworth fought off every challenge and counter attacked with vengeance and scored another 2 a well earned hatrick from Peaks and a superb solo effort from Georgina Henry. Report: Peterborough Diamonds under 14’s made it 4 wins in a row with a well worked 8-0 away win at Parkland Tigers. Diamonds played exceptionally well with lots of good football being played creating lots of chances for the hungry forward line. Tigers contributed greatly to the game but were unable to produce anything due to the performance of the diamonds back four. Leading the way in the scoring was Emily Johnson (5) Lauren Johnson (1) Ellie Hannan (1) and Charlene Jackson (1) being her first goal for the club. Match Date: 16/10/09

Report: Drayton with only 10 players gave a dogged performance and defended valiantly against Vixens, and it was the Grange who went on the attack and gave Blisworth a wake up call. Blisworth then had most of the possession but found Drayton getting players behind the ball to frustrate the home team. Vixens then broke the deadlock after another goalmouth scramble with Julia Domagala stabbing the ball home for a well deserved lead, Jess Peaks then added another 10 min’s after to make it 2-0 at half time. The second period saw Blisworth playing better football and M.OM Jess Peaks got 2 more to secure her hatrick and 2 superb strikes from Grace Adeyinka from 18 yards out one with either foot wrapped the game up for the Vixens to secure their quarter final place. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11/10/09

After the interval Blisworth piled on the pressure and scored 7 more well worked goals with Julia Domagala getting a second half hatrick, Grace Adeyinka scoring once more to secure her hatrick. Match report Celtic took on blisworth, and not the best of first halfs from the girls, blisworth piled on the pressure in the first half and put three goals past the girls, this could have been a lot more but for some fantastic keeping from mairianne, in the second half the Celtic girls found there feet passing the ball a lot more freely, with Georgia muddiman pulling a goal back, but blisworth were always dangerous going forward and wrapped the win up with two more goals, a very good second half to the girls against a very good blisworth team. The score line did not reflect a very good second half From celtic.

After the break Celtic pushed up on the Vixens and were rewarded for their efforts with a well struck goal after 10 min’s. Blisworth then re-composed and went back to business and Celtic were thwarted at every turn by a well drilled Vixens defence marshalled by captain Olivia partridge. Celtic then found themselves caught out by the counter attack twice from Blisworth, and Imogen Elvie secured her second hatrick in as many games. Report: In a very entertaining game Rothwell had to work twice as hard with ten players and they found themselves going 0-1 down after a scramble in the box. Rothwell put pressure on and created numerous chances, Danielle Ashworth managed to even it out, however Moulton struck a well taken goal and took a 1-2 lead just before half time.
Hannah Clancy, Abbie Mackenzie.
The girls were slow to start with Woburn scoring in the first minute of kick off.
Woburn kept up the pressure and added a second, half way through the first half. Celtic soon found their feet with Georgia Newman scoring to bring the game back to 2-1 at the break.
The second half Woburn scored to take it to 3-1, but Celtic are not a team to give up and the girls scored 4 more fantastic goals, two to Georgia Newman for her hat trick, one to Alice Fitt and one to Abbie Mackenzie. The girls played some outstanding passing football today and never gave up. Well done to you all. This was a great game of football from both teams.
