Report: -

Duston turned up at Parklands raring to go for the first game of the season and showed a desire to play from the start. The whole team put in some really good attacking play ensuring we got a much deserved first goal from Shanice who worried Parklands defence with a constant flurry of shots and was rewarded with a 2nd before half time. M.O.M Shannon showed excellent support and skill in defence guiding the defenders to keep a clean sheet with good support from Phoebe and Keia. Midfielders Sharee Paris and Georgia kept the team pushing forward with support from Chloe and Darcy getting back when Parklands made a break. Debut game for new keeper Rachel who showed some good skills and a clean sheet for her hard work. The 2nd half saw Rachael get her first goal of the season and some good pairing with Shanice who got her hat-trick minutes from the end. A great start to the season girls which we need to keep up –well done.

Match Report:

Duston started slowly against a strong physical Corby side today and conceded an early goal which spurred them into action, but a closely followed equaliser from Shanice who got her 2nd before the break gave Duston the lead going into the 2nd half. Shannon excelled in defence once again leading the back players to play some great defending as Corby continued to push M.O.M Georgia with midfielders Paris, Sharee and Chloe played some great positive football challenging Corby and winning through balls up to Shanice and Rachel who are developing a good partnership up front with Rachael getting a 3rd and Shanice the 4th and 5th to seal the win for Duston. Keeper Rachael deserves a mention for another great performance in goal. Well done Girls.

Match Report:

Duston travelled to Daventry and started on the back foot going 2-0 down early in the game allowing Drayton to feed the long ball over allowing Drayton’s striker to score 2 good goals.

This was the wake up Duston needed to get into the game. A first from Rachel and the equaliser from Shanice saw a tie going into the break. Duston girls rallied and played some decent football in the 2nd half with continuous pressure and exceptional performances from M.O.M Chloe and Sharee in midfield and  from Shanice and Rachel attacking saw Duston go on to a deserved win. Well done girls but some of you need to show more desire to play.

Report:

Duston started with only 9 players due to illness and then 10 with a late arrival. Rothwell started strongly and got 2 early goals against a depleted Duston side whose performance was lacklustre and lethargic. M.O.M Shannon keeper Rachel Sharee and up front Shanice played some good football and Duston clawed the score back to an acceptable 5-3 result for a 10 man team whose game on the day was poor by the previous 3 games. Duston need to show more desire and effort to get back to winning ways.

Report:

Given that this was the girl’s first game of the season and the fact that only 9 players were available, it would have been reasonable to have expected a pretty bleak afternoon in sunny Daventry.  The plain fact of the matter is that the score line really doesn’t do justice to what was a resolute and thoroughly entertaining display by the girls.

From the first whistle, the girls put in 100% effort and for the first 20 minutes it was difficult to tell which team had 11 players on the pitch.  Around 23 minutes, a very well worked move saw Drayton score their first goal and a lesser side would have struggled from that moment.  Not this bunch of players, it only seemed to spur them on against a very organised and solid team.

For a period, the girls found themselves with 8 players due to an injury to Hannah but still they blocked everything and so the score remained 1-0 at half time.

The second half continued with Drayton pushing forward looking for the second but time and again the girls rallied and snuffed out every attack.  Given the superior numbers that the opposition had, it was proving very difficult to get forward but the girls made it into the opposition’s box on a few occasions and were unfortunate not to get an equaliser.

With the final whistle drawing near and the lack of numbers beginning to take their toll, Drayton broke away and put away number 2.  Still the girls continued to give it their all until the final whistle.

It was a case of what might have been but one thing is for sure, with a full starting 11, this team will take some beating.

Report: Drayton Grange played some great football, going straight on the attack. Midfield put some good balls through and Carly Lakey took advantage putting Drayton 1-0 up at half time. Our defense was solid giving the keeper nothing to save. Alicia Falcone went on the attack which resulted in Jade Reynolds getting Draytons second. Report: Rothwell made it two in a row with a fantastic performance. Rothwell were playing good football but got caught on the break for Tigers to score the first goal after only 5 minutes. It took Rothwell only 6 minutes to reply when Rosin Lawrence played a well measured pass into Shannon Brown who finished well. This gave Rothwell confidence and they were working hard to get the lead. Leah Davis scored a nice team goal for Rothwell after good link up play with Fran Ashworth and Dannielle Ives. Sophie Bendon came on for Town and made an immediate impact on the game by setting up Dannielle Ives. Ives soon grabbed her second with a controlled lob over the Tiger’s keeper. Parkland hit back twice before half time to make Rothwell 4-3 up at half time. Town’s defence were in control of any Parklands pressure after half time. Rothwell started to play entertaining football which was great to watch with everyone showing confidence on the ball. Skipper Dannielle Ives got her well deserved hat trick after Shannon Brown played her through. Yasmin Marlow and Sophie Bendon were controlling the midfield well and Stephanie Butts once again controlled the back line well. Leah Davis got her second with a great finish in the top corner and Fran Ashworth finished the scoring with a low placed shot.
