Report: Unfortunately the result does not reflect the performance of the Kingsthorpe Girls. Clearly the better team though-out the first half and into the second. Both teams’ squandered good opportunities to add to the score line. But the Christmas & Snow break took its toll on the legs of the players.

Bedford started the better team putting Rothwell under pressure from the start. Bedford broke the deadlock with a miss-hit goal kick with Roth well failing to be first to the ball. Rothwell then hit back with a brilliant finish from kayleigh Johnson. Just before half time Bedford hot a superb free kick to put then ahead at half time. Second half both teams battled hard and the game could have fallen either way. Rothwell kept the pressure but fail to convert any chances. Bedford hit again from another set piece and shortly after from a long-range shot. Report:  An amazing game well refereed throughout. Bedford jumped out to a 3-0 lead in just 10 minutes, and then lead 4-1 after just 15 minutes, Shelbee Clarke and Sophie Smith each scoring a brace. But Peterborough hit back with an incredible 3 goal burst to leave the score at 4-4 at the break. Kettering went 2 up within a matter of minutes as rothwell got off to a slow start. After settling into the game rothwell pulled a goal back from Chloe Jeffs at the back post.  Kettering hit again before half time to make it 3-1 at the break. Second lived up to expectations & a great game for the nuturals. A fiesty start saw ktown bag another goal with rothwell shortly following, with Lauren Ward at the near post. Kettering continued to press and with a few lucky breaks and scored twice to make it 6-2. A fine second half display and well deserved penatly kick from Hannah Pendred made it 6.3. A great team performance as Rothwell battled hard into the closing minutes and dispite luck not being on there side, they proved a difficult opposition for less than convincing kettering town.

Result:              Corby 4 v 0 City Belles

Man of Match Belles MOM - Jodie Waller

Goal Scorers:        Belles scorers - none today?

Match Report:        Belles only had 9 players from the start, and the keeper played although still ill herself. Both Corby & Belles went for it from the start, and Corby missed 4 or 5 good chances largely due to snatched finishing and the speed off the line & presence of  Belles Keeper, who won all the one on one situations. Belles had several passages of good play to get the ball forward but having all strikers out & 2 players down gave little outlet, and any one who ran forward found themselves one against 3 each time. 5 mins before half time after saving 3 shots on the trot the 4th finally went in. At the start of the second half Belles had a go at Corby and the Corby Managers comment "you would not know that you only had 9 players" was testament to their non stop running & effort. Eventually Corby simply had to many players and scored a second 20 mins before the end of the match. At this point Belles decided to go for it as they had nothing to loose, and in doing so nearly scored on 2 or 3 occasions, hitting the bar and having a shot cleared off the line. The game became end to end, which led to Corby scoring twice more in the last 5 mins as Belles were out numbered and tired. Neither team gave up or stopped running until the end. the game was played in a good spirit with no trouble form any quarter. Everyone enjoyed the match through out.
